FALCO Ecology is an independent ecological consultancy based in the Newcastle upon Tyne serving individuals, private and public sectors. We can provide expert advice, design tailor made surveys and undertake those surveys using state of the art technology.
We are specialists providing urban peregrine advice and peregrine falcon monitoring across the UK. We can provide tailor made Peregrine Method Statements and complete peregrine licence applications to Natural England and Natural Resources Wales on behalf of our clients.
We also undertake complex bird surveys as well as a full range of protected species surveys including bat surveys, badger, great crested newts, otter, red squirrel, reptiles and water vole. We also undertake habitat surveys including Phase 1 which forms part of a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal.
Following the completion of surveys we produce high quality, robust assessments and reports including scoping reports, baseline and Environmental Statements. These reports can be provided very swiftly to meet your strict deadlines. Drawings are produced in QGIS format and for more complex projects we work closely with ArcGIS specialists. We can also review and provide comments on third party assessments on complex ornithological matters.
We have close connections with the Local Planning Authority County Ecologists which can assist with agreeing the ecological survey requirements, potentially saving you time and money.

We are experienced in undertaking Ecological Clerk of Work roles on a variety of construction sites including water and gas pipelines, providing a service which assists you in completing works whilst keeping within environmental law.
Members of our team hold appropriate protected species licenses, CSCS cards, are members of CIEEM and we abide by their Code of Practice.
