A trip to visit a Peregrine

FALCO Ecology were approached by another ecological consultancy to assist one of their clients with a unique situation regarding potential breeding peregrine falcons on a development site within London. In order to establish whether the roof top had suitable nesting opportunities, we undertake a site visit. This visit allowed us to get a better understanding of the urban landscape surrounding the building, where other current and potential future nest sites maybe located. Gaining information on the ground helps better understand how the proposed development may impact on the occupying peregrines. Future monitoring and further site visits will now be undertaken to help safeguard these magnificent birds.

As always it was fantastic to watch hunting peregrines above you, especially when you are stood in the car park of a retail park whilst surrounded by hungry starlings.
